Have Questions? We’re Here to Answer Them!

It’s normal to have questions about a particular dental office or type of treatment. Knowing and understanding more about dentistry will help you to take better care of your oral and overall health. This is why we encourage our patients to ask questions! Below, you will find a list of our answers to some of the most common questions asked by those who continue to entrust us with their oral health.

Do I have to visit the dental office twice a year?

It’s highly recommended by the Chambers Family Dentistry team and the American Dental Association that patients visit our team at least every six months for dental checkups. These preventive appointments allow us to partner with patients to maintain their healthiest smiles.

What is periodontal disease?

Periodontal disease is perhaps better known as gum disease. It occurs when the tissues surrounding teeth are damaged by the buildup of plaque and tartar at the gumline, which can lead to numerous adverse effects. Our dentists provide a variety of periodontal therapies to renew patients’ smiles following gum disease.

Can I call if I have an emergency?

We are happy to help patients who experience dental emergencies. In most situations, we can see patients of record on the same day they contact us for an emergency appointment. We also see new patients as quickly as possible, and we will walk them through first aid instructions over the phone.

Why should I visit the dentist for sleep apnea?

Our dentists are able to provide a comfortable oral appliance that keeps the throat clear, allowing sleep apnea sufferers to breathe deeply during the night. For many patients, this is a viable alternative to the traditional CPAP systems that many patients cannot adjust to.

Can you help if I have dental anxiety?

Our caring and gentle dentists and team do their utmost to make patients feel welcome and comfortable throughout their time in the dental office. We also offer sedation dentistry options for patients who experience dental anxiety or need extra help remaining free from pain.

Are kids welcome in your dental office?

We love working with young patients. As a family dental office, we offer a variety of treatments geared toward healthy dental development for kids. In addition to these pediatric dentistry services, we do our utmost to make caring for everyone’s smiles convenient.

Do you take my insurance?

We are happy to process and file claims for most PPO dental insurance plans. Our team members also have years of experience with insurance policies, so we can review your policy documents to help you maximize the coverage.
