Protecting Your Smile No Matter What

In light of COVID-19, our team at Chambers Family Dentistry has taken precautions to the next level in order to meet or exceed guidelines given by the American Dental Association, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Maryland state government. We create a safe environment to care for our patients, particularly in two ways every day.

More PPE

At our office, we have always worn masks and gloves, but we have stepped up our game throughout the office with more aggressive personal protective equipment (PPE). Our front desk staff will have masks, and our dentists, hygienists, and assistants will wear disposable lab coats, hats, N95 masks, and face shields to further prevent potential spread of germs.

After a dental visit is finished, we’ll remove and discard the lab coats, hats, gloves, and outer mask layer to avoid cross contamination.

Longer, Sequenced Visits

To reduce exposure, we’ve decided to have fewer, more spaced out appointments. In fact, we’ve reduced our patient capacity by 40 percent for less overlap, more time for each patient’s needs, more time to clean between each appointment, and easier social distancing.

Covering PPE Costs

Unfortunately, the cost of these additional precautions adds up. We are in the process of applying for a grant from human health services, but until then, we will be charging every patient a $25 fee to cover the cost for essential PPE.

If you have questions about our safety protocols, feel free to contact our team.
